Uro-Pro™ is a comprehensive combination of vitamins, amino acids, herbals, and other nutrients, carefully formulated for men. Included in this blend is saw palmetto, which is used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve the urologic symptoms (e.g. weak urine flow, incomplete voiding, frequent daytime and night-time urination) associated with mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Saw Palmetto has been shown to positively affect the structure and function of a man's prostate gland. This herb inhibits the conversion of testosterone to its more active form, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), via inhibition of alpha-5-reductase. Supplementation with saw palmetto extract in men aged 50 to 75 significantly improved several aspects of prostate function, including nocturnal frequency, maximum flow and volume. Uro-Pro™ also contains pumpkin seed and pygeum, two herbs commonly used by men in traditional herbal medicine.
Other nutrients are also included to maintain general health. Vitamin E and grape seed extract provide antioxidant protection against oxidative damage to cells throughout the body, including the prostate. Vitamin B6 has important roles in nutrient metabolism, while zinc and vitamin A are critical nutrients required for healthy skin and immune function.
