Moving Through Perimenopause/Menopause: Why We Need to Rrethink Our Approach to Treatment Wednesday, September 18, 2024
All women transition through perimenopause and menopause; however, their experiences vary dramatically, making a personalized approach essential. While Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) can be helpful for some women, for others, giving more estrogen to a desensitized system is not the answer.
Understanding which physiological pathways drive an individual’s symptoms is essential to menopause management. For example, increased cortisol can result in nighttime hot flashes, while increases in neurokinin-B and kisspeptin are the main causes of daytime hot flashes.
Join Dr. Penny Kendall-Reed, N.D., for this webinar where she will discuss:
- Newly recognized metabolic and physiological changes that occur at menopause beyond just the decrease of estrogen.
- Non-estrogenic pharmacological treatments for menopause
- Key genetic SNPs to help anticipate what symptoms may arise and ensure the safety and efficacy of treatment
- Why very few women need to use estrogen, and when they do, how we can improve its safety profile
- How to tie it all together through comparative clinical case studies
